Public Service:
Involved in public service for over 36 years, served as a city councilmember and later as mayor pro-temp in the City of Lake Jackson, Texas.
Appointed by former Governor George W. Bush, Barnes served on the District Review Committee #1 for the Texas Medical Board receiving re-appointments from former Governor Rick Perry and Governor Greg Abbott; has served the State of Texas for 25 years
Serves as a Board Member on the Texas Medical Board with appointments to the Finance and the Disciplinary Process and Review Committees.

A graduate of Baylor University and the University of Phoenix; holds a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry; earned advanced degrees including a Master of Business Administration in Human Resource Management and a Doctorate in Business Administration
